FLUME | Sleepless (feat Jezzabell Doran)
With this typhoon like storm in Chicago that just passed me, Flume puts me in a better mood. Harley Streten (aka Flume) from Australia has a bright future ahead of him. He’s been beat making since he was 13 and right now he’s at the of 21 making a stand for himself all over the world.
“Music essentially boils down to two main elements, rhythm and melody. I feel tones and textures often get overlooked, so I like to take my time finding the right sounds.” - Flume
What makes him standout (to me at least) is the inspiration he has been on since the young age of 13. Such artists as J Dilla, Flying Lotus, etc. If you guys know the other two artists, you can really depict the other side of his style than the pure electronic - the R&B drops and beats with angelic female singers pitched into something beautiful. ‘Sleepless’ has always been a track that put me on a good mood.
